The National Bioethics & Technology Ethics Committee and the Laboratory for the Study of Medical Law and Bioethics of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki offer for the fifth consecutive year an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the subject of modern bioethics and, now, with that of technology ethics.
They are co-organizing for the year 2022 an educational seminar program, which will cover a wide range of important topics, such as Introduction to Bioethics, Introduction to Technology Ethics, Informed Consent, Personal Data in Health Care, The dual function of vaccination and related bioethical and legal issues, Genetic enhancement and the principle of justice, Ethics in Robotics, Ethics in Artificial Intelligence, Clinical Trials of the Coronavirus Vaccine, Genetic Interventions in Reproductive Materials and Embryo Selection, Responsibility towards Future Generations, Medically Assisted Reproduction: The rights of the surrogate mother Mr. etc. You can see the full programme of the seminars here.
The programme is addressed to undergraduate and postgraduate students of all Faculties of Science and Theoretical Sciences, but also to professional lawyers, judges, doctors, IT scientists, teachers, etc.
It includes 12 presentations to be held from February to June 2022 remotely using only zoom. The meetings are two-hour sessions on Thursday from 17.00-19.00 on the dates 24/2/2022, 3/3/2022, 10/3/2022, 17/3/2022, 31/3/2022, 7/4/2022, 14/4/2022, 5/5/2022, 12/5/2022, 19/5/2022, 26/5/2022, 2/6/2022 and 9/6/2022 (optional paper presentation).
Upon completion of the Program, certificates of attendance will be issued to those who attended at least ten (10) of the twelve (12) seminars.
For attendance, English language proficiency is required, as there will be presenters from abroad.
The participation fee is 100 euros.
