Η Ε. Συμεωνίδου – Καστανίδου είναι καθηγήτρια του Ποινικού Δικαίου στη Νομική Σχολή του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης και στην Εθνική Σχολή Δικαστικών Λειτουργών.

Έχει διατελέσει Πρόεδρος του Ομίλου Μελέτης Ιατρικού Δικαίου και Βιοηθικής (2011 – 2015) και σήμερα είναι Διευθύντρια του Εργαστηρίου Μελέτης Ιατρικού Δικαίου και Βιοηθικής και υπεύθυνη για τον συντονισμό του Δικτύου του ΑΠΘ «Σύγχρονη Ιατρική Πράξη, Βιοϊατρική και Δίκαιο». Διευθύντρια του περιοδικού Ιατρικό Δίκαιο και Βιοηθική και μέλος της Συντακτικής Επιτροπής των περιοδικών “European Criminal Law Review” (www.euclr.eu), Υπεράσπιση (1991 – 2000), Ποινική Δικαιοσύνη και Βιοηθικά. Συνδιευθύνει τις σειρές «Δημοσιεύματα ιατρικού δικαίου και βιοηθικής», «Ειδικοί Ποινικοί Νόμοι» και «Ιατρική Πράξη, Βιοϊατρική και Δίκαιο».

Είναι μέλος της Εταιρείας Νομικών Βορείου Ελλάδος, της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Ποινικού Δικαίου, της Ένωσης Ευρωπαίων Νομικών, της Ένωσης Ελλήνων Ποινικολόγων, της European Society of Human Reproduction, του European Law Institute και της ευρωπαϊκής ομάδας εργασίας “European Criminal Policy Initiative». Διετέλεσε μέλος της νομοπαρασκευαστικής επιτροπής για την αναθεώρηση του Ποινικού Κώδικα και πρόεδρος της επιτροπής από τον Ιούλιο του 2011. Έχει συμμετάσχει στα Ανώτατα Δικαστήρια των άρθρων 88 και 99 Συντ., καθώς και στο Ανώτατο Πειθαρχικό Συμβούλιο του άρθρου 91 παρ. 2 Συντ.

Έχει συμμετάσχει ως ομιλήτρια σε περισσότερα από 180 εθνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια. Έχει συγγράψει μόνη ή σε συνεργασία με άλλους 31 βιβλία (τρία από αυτά στα αγγλικά και ένα στα αγγλικά και τα γερμανικά) και περισσότερες από 250 μελέτες δημοσιευμένες σε ελληνικά και ξενόγλωσσα περιοδικά και συλλογικούς τόμους .

Katerina Fountedaki has been a Professor of Civil Law at the Law School since 2013.

Lina Papadopoulou

Ass. Professor of Constitutional Law, AUTh School of Law

Triantafyllia (Lina) Papadopoulou is an associate professor of constitutional law and holder of a Jean Monnet Chair for European Constitutional Law and Culture, at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Greece. She studied Law at AUTh (Bachelor 1993), Trier (LLM 1994) and Hannover (PhD 1998) and Political Theory at the London School of Economics (LSE, MSc 1999). She was a Post-doc ‘Marie Curie’ Fellow in the field of European Constitutional Law at the LSE (2000 and 2001, topic: ‘Towards a European bill of rights’) and A.U.Th. (2001/02, topic: the reconciliation between European law and national constitutions).

Before starting teaching at the School of Law of A.U.Th (2003 until today), she had taught at the LSE (2002, European Law) and at the Faculty of Political Science of A.U.Th. ((European Studies and Constitutional Law, 2002/03). She has also taught for short periods through Erasmus in several Universities as a guest teacher or through LLP (Agder, Norway; Bahçeşehir & Kultür, Istanbul; Humboldt, Berlin, Hanover and Open University, Germany; Perugia, Italy etc).

Her primary areas of expertise include national, comparative and European constitutional issues and human rights, focusing on democracy and political parties, economy and the constitution, equality and non-discrimination, religion and the state, and bioethical issues.

Lina is a member of the “European Constitutional Law Network” (ECLN), the “European Consortium for Church and State Research”, the “European Commission on Sexual Orientation Law” and the “International Association of Family Law” as well as of many Greek associations for constitutional law. Her publications include monographs [‘European Political Parties’ (1999, in German), “National Constitution and Community Law: the ‘supremacy’ issue” (2009, in Greek), “Institutions of ‘direct democracy’ in the Constitution (2014, in Greek)] as well as approx. 60 articles in Greek, English and German.

Elisavet Symeonidou-Kastanidou

Professor of Criminal Law & Dean of AUTh School of Law Laboratory Director

Elisavet Symeonidou-Kastanidou is a Professor of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the National Academy for Judges (Greece). She has been the President of the Society for the Study of Medical Law and Bioethics (2011 – 2015) and, presently, she is the Chair of the Laboratory for the Research of Medical Law and Bioethics and responsible for the coordination of the Aristotle University Network “Contemporary Medical Praxis, Biomedicine and Law”. She directs the (Greek) journal “Medical Law and Bioethics” and she is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal “European Criminal Law Review” (www.euclr.eu) as well as of three other (Greek) journals on criminal law and bioethics. She is co – editor of the series: “Essays on Medical Law and Bioethics”, “Medical Praxis, Biomedicine and Law” and “Special Criminal Laws”.

Professor Symeonidou – Kastanidou has served as Chair of the Legislative Commission for the revision of the Greek Criminal Code and as a member of the Supreme Courts of Art. 88 and 91 of the Greek Constitution. She directs the Laboratory of European Criminal Law at AUTH, she is a member of the European Criminal Policy Initiative (ECPI) and a member of numerous national and international Scientific Societies. She has been invited as a speaker to more than 180 national and international congresses. She has written, alone or in cooperation with other authors, 31 books (three of them in English and one in English and German) and 250 studies, published in journals, honorary volumes or Congress Proceedings in Greek, English and German.
